So you’ve never tried therapy before. It’s cool that you’re thinking about it. Let me tell you what to expect on that first visit.

When the big day comes, you’ll come in, and sit down and we’ll talk. That’s it. Nothing fancy, just talking. If you know what you want to say the floor is yours. If you don’t know what to say, I’m there to help. My work is making a space where you feel safe, free from judgment and expectations. Your work is being as honest and as vulnerable as you can tolerate. You can be you, no matter who that is. I am not here to decide if you’re crazy. I am not here to tell you what is wrong with you. I’m here to help you look inside, find the person longing to be set free and give you the tools to sever the chains that hold you back.
Then I’ll give you a piece of candy and you’ll go back to your regularly scheduled life with some stuff to think about and hopefully an excitement for the possibilities waiting in the future.
