Phase of Life Crisis

From 19-26:

You’ve reach a certain age. That age where people start to question everything. You wake up to go to a job you hate and wonder why money is even a thing. Why can we just all live on a farm and grow what we need to survive? All you want to do is live life and be happy! You don’t want to have to do everything that everyone else in America tells you to do! At the same time you don’t even friggen know who you are yet?! Why are decisions so damn hard!!? And seriously, where do I go to make friends now?? Am I the only one who feels this way? Something is wrong with me!

From 38-47

You’ve reached a certain age. That age where people start to question everything they thought they knew. You wake up to go to a job you hate and wonder why you even chose this career to begin with. Why can’t we just get paid to do the things we love? All you want to do is live life and be free. You don’t want to have to do everything that your spouse and kids want you to do. At the same time, you wonder who you even are anymore? You mostly just look like your Mom/Dad. What is life about?! And seriously, where do i go to make friends? Am I the only one who feels this way? What is wrong with me?

From 65-75

You’ve reached a certain age. That age where people start to question everything they have done in this life. You don’t have a job to wake up to anymore and retirement is not what you thought. What are you going to do if the money runs out? How can you get paid to do all the things you love? All you want to do is enjoy the rest of your life in peace and comfort. You don’t feel like you can do all the things your friends and family want you to do, but at the same time they don’t visit as much as you would like. Is this what your parents felt like? What has my life been about? And seriously, where do I go to make friends? Am I the only one who feels this way? What’s wrong with me?

Life crises happen at many phases. They are called quarter-life, mid-life and retirement crises because LOTS of people suffer the exact same symptoms. All three of them come with a feeling of being lost and confused about what to do next and who we are. They all three come with a feeling of being isolated and alone in our thinking. And they can all three be navigated with the help of a therapist. Together we can explore what causes your feelings and create a path to get you through this chapter.
